CINCINNATI - Plenty of people found out Monday night that just because it's a weekday game doesn't mean you can buy a seat minutes before the first pitch.

The St. Louis Cardinals play the Reds through Wednesday at Great American Ballpark. Most of the good seats were already sold, only upper deck 'View Level' seats remained.

"We've had great numbers for this Cardinals series. For a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, this is phenomenal for us," said Reds Vice President of Ticketing John Davis.

Ticket brokers say you have to go back 20 years to find this much late season demand.

"I've never seen anything like it in the 12 years I've worked here," said Travis Jackson from Riverfront Choice Tickets. "The only thing I can compare it to is the 1990 series when the Reds went to the World Series."

The Reds say they're seeing an increase in sales for the Marlins series along with the Cubs and Padres later matchups.
