CINCINNATI - To quote Rodney Dangerfield, the Reds get "no respect. No respect at all."

The current MLB-leading Redlegs were shafted in a newly-released advertisement promoting postseason baseball coverage on TBS, featuring the Boss, Bruce Springsteen.

Now granted, Great American Ball Park was not one of the venues that Springsteen visited this season during his U.S. ballpark tour, but see the picture attached to this story? That's part of the less than 1 second of coverage the Reds received in a 2-minute advertisement. The commercial features a flash frame of Brandon Phillips celebrating from the bench, and another .25 second long clip of Joey Votto hitting a home run (pictured).

The sputtering Pittsburgh Pirates get more air time than the team with the best record in baseball. The Detroit Tigers, who are two games back in the Wild Card race, get about 15 seconds of air time in all. Albert Pujols and the LA Angels, who are even further back in the Wild Card, take up more time than the Reds. What gives?

When will the nation take notice that this team is on a mission for the World Series, a mission they are very much accomplishing thus far?

Oh well, let us here in the Tri-State be humble with our success. The Reds' magic number is 24 wins to clinch the Central. Maybe then the rest of the league will pick their heads up and start seeing Red.

Do you think the Reds deserve more respect? Leave a comment in the section below.
