CINCINNATI - As the college and NFL seasons wind down, Cincinnati football fans still have a season to look forward to as the Cincinnati Commando have begun preseason preparations this week.
With a perfect 8-0 season, the Commandos brought home Cincinnati's first-ever professional football title in 2010. Head coach Billy Back along with coach Brian Wells, who shared the Continental Indoor Football League Co-Coach of the Year title in 2010, will both return with a newly-signed group of locally-renowned players.
Among the new additions to the lineup is former Bengals wide receiver, Peter Warrick. Warrick, who starred at Florida State, was a first-round draft pick of the Bengals in 2000 and played five seasons in Cincinnati.
Other newly-signed players include quarterback Tyler Sheehan (formerly of the Houston Texans), defensive lineman Derrick Crawford (Cincinnati Bengals), Maurice Lee (Ohio State) and Brandon Harrison (University of Michigan).
The Commandos will again call Cincinnati Gardens home for the 2011 season beginning in late February. Season tickets, including a new option for children, go on sale Monday, Nov. 22 and are available through the Cincinnati Gardens box office.
Open tryouts were held on Oct. 24 at Wall2Wall Soccer in Mason and will be held again Dec. 5.
More information about tickets and tryouts is available at Cincinnaticommandos.com .
