Woman dies in Campbell County accident

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Kentucky - Campbell County officers were called to a fatal 2 car accident just after 4:00 on Saturday afternoon.
Police said the accident involved a pick-up truck and a car.
According to witnesses, Gail Hewitt, 73 , was driving southbound in the northbound lane near the intersection of US 27 and KY 536. They say Hewitt continued through the intersection and struck 28 year old, Bradley Fugate’s pick-up truck in the northbound lane.
Fugate and his passenger, Kaitlyn Shepherd, 19, were transported to University Hospital.
Hewitt was pronounced dead at the scene by a Campbell County Coroner.
Police say that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this accident and all parties were wearing their seatbelts. This accident remains under investigation.
