NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) -- A suicidal western Pennsylvania man charged with duct-taping and raping a 15-year-old girl he lured to his home with the promise of a babysitting job has been found in Ohio.
Police in Shenango Township, Pa. say federal marshals caught up with 52-year-old Todd Vocature on Thursday when he checked into an unspecified mental health facility in Massillon, Ohio. He's since been jailed in Akron, Ohio, where he's waiting to be extradited to Pennsylvania.
That's where he's charged with driving the girl to his home on Aug. 31 after telling her he needed a sitter for his daughter.
Instead, police say Vocature took the girl into a bedroom and sexually assaulted her after binding her with duct tape.
Police say Vocature also told his victim that he wanted to have sex with her before killing himself.
