Troopers find 570 pounds of marijuana during routine traffic stop

CINCINNATI - Two Cincinnati men are facing felony drug charges after Ohio state troopers found more than 500 pounds of marijuana in their vehicle.
The troopers discovered the drugs after stopping the 2006 U-Haul box truck for a marked lanes violation Wednesday evening on westbound I-275 in Hamilton County. A drug-sniffing dog alerted to the vehicle, and officers then uncovered 32 bundles of marijuana in the rear cargo area. Officials estimated the value of the marijuana to be about $2.2 million.
Quincy D. Showes, 25, was driving the vehicle, and Darius J. Jackson 22, was his passenger, according to state troopers. Both men were charged with possessing and trafficking marijuana, which are second-degree felonies. They are being held at the Hamilton County jail.
Showes and Jackson each could face 16 years in prison and a $30,000 fine if convicted of all charges.
