Tip leads to capture, arrest of Ohio sex offender

WORTHVILLE, Ky. - Authorities in Carroll County, Kentucky, have arrested a convicted sex offender from Ohio, after a tip led investigators to his whereabouts.

U.S. Marshals and county deputies sought Stanley S. Snow II, 29, of Worthville, Ky., for nearly the entire day on Jan. 30 until a tip led them to him.

“We got a tip from Ohio, where he was wanted,” said Loren “Squirrel” Carl, the U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Kentucky. “When he crossed state lines, it became a violation of the Adam Walsh Act, which is a federal offense.”

Snow failed to notify authorities in Ohio he was relocating and also failed to register as a sex offender after moving to Kentucky, police said. Snow was originally convicted for engaging in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl in December 2004.

Warrants were issued for him from Cuyahoga County, Ohio in January and November 2012 for failure to notify of address change and failure to verify address.

He was classified as a sex offender, which required him to register with proper state agencies.
