COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio holiday travelers are paying 25 cents more for gasoline than they were last week, though prices are still down quite a bit from the highs of two months ago.
Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express puts Ohio's average price for regular-grade gasoline at $3.59 a gallon, up from $3.34 a week ago. But prices are more than 50 cents cheaper than the May 4 all-time high for regular in Ohio, which was $4.16 a gallon.
Gas costs have been coming down in tandem with oil prices, which dropped nearly 16 percent in May and June. The turnaround came as consumers balked at soaring gasoline prices and some of the world's major oil importers released emergency supplies.
