CINCINNATI - If you’re looking for romance, southwest Ohio is the place to be.

No, I’m serious.

According to research conducted by Amazon.com, Cincinnati is the fifth most romantic city in the United States. Dayton, Ohio, ranks seventh on the list.

According to the article on Amazon.com , the website compiled sales data to determine the rankings. The study focuses on romance novels and relationship books (electronic and print publications); romantic comedy movies (digital and DVDs); music from love song kings Dean Martin, Barty White, Luther Vandross, Maxwell and Miguel (CDs and MP3s); and “sexual wellness products” sold between Jan. 1, 2012, and Jan. 23, 2013, on a per capita basis in cities with more than 100,000 residents.

Cincinnati ranked seventh last year, while Dayton placed 19th.

Knoxville, Tenn., sits atop the list for the second year in a row. Boise, Idaho, is the least romantic city in the country based on consumer buying habits.

Miami, Fla., is the “sexiest” city in the U.S. again this year after finishing as the top city for sales in the sexual wellness category. Perhaps coming as a surprise to some, Cambridge, Mass., and Alexandria, Va., are No. 2 and No. 3 in that area.

Round Rock, Texas, is one of the biggest movers on this year’s list, moving up to No. 11 after not placing last year. Billings, Mont., (No. 20) also made the list for the first time.
