Summertime apps can help busy families looking for quick ways to get summer safety tips on the go.

The Environmental Protection Agency offers an app called 'Sunwise' to help protect your family from sunburns. It gives a daily and hourly forecast for UV rays wherever you are.

But if you're actually looking to spend some time in the sun to get a golden tan, then you may want to download the 'Suntan Watcher' app for your iPhone. It can remind you to turn over, re-apply sunscreen or check on the kids with the help of an alarm.

The American Red Cross is also offering a first aid kit on the go. The free  'SOS' app has quick answers about immediate safety concerns ranging from minor bug bites to more serious concerns like burns.
