For the photo-sharing app Instagram, a picture is worth 7.3 million daily users.

According to a new report from the analytics firm ComScore, daily usage of Instagram soared above Twitter during the month of August.

The data looks at smartphone users who access the popular applications on a daily basis.

Instagram had an average of 7.3 million U.S. smartphone users compared to Twitter's 6.87 million U.S. smartphone users.

The ComScore report does not take Twitter desktop users into consideration.

Instagram is solely a mobile service.

The ComScore report also says the average Instagram user spent 257 minutes accessing using the app in August, compared to 169.9 minutes spent on Twitter.
