CINCINNATI - Five people are lucky to be alive after after a two-alarm fire engulfed a home in Westwood late Thursday evening.

Firefighters saw fire coming out of the windows of the home when they arrived at 3201 McHenry Avenue just before 10 p.m. All five people had made it safely outside before fire crews arrived at the scene.

According to 9 On Your Side reporter Bryce Anslinger, a man went downstairs and noticed the fire and then helped the other four people inside house, including three children, get outside safely. The man reportedly suffered injuries to his hands.

Firefighters at the scene say the first floor of the home is totally destroyed and the entire house may be a total loss.

An estimate on property damage was not released.
