Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place at a PNC Bank branch in Westwood Wednesday afternoon.
Around 4:50 p.m., District 3 police officers were dispatched to the PNC Bank located at 5535 Glenway Avenue after receiving reports a robbery had taken place.
According to police, the female suspect entered the bank through its front entrance and loitered for a bit before handing a note to a teller and demanding money. The note said the suspect had a firearm but no one in the bank saw a gun, police said.
Police said the suspect made away with an undetermined amount of money.
The suspect was last seen leaving the parking lot as a passenger in a silver or light colored four-door vehicle that was driven by a white male, police said.
The suspect is being described by police as a white female in her early to mid-40s, approximately 5-foot-5, with a thin build and long light or gray hair. She was wearing a black leather coat, black jogging pants with a white stripe down each leg, and white gym shoes. (Pictures of the suspect can be viewed in the upper left-hand side of the screen.)
A description of the male driver of the getaway car has not been provided.
