CINCINNATI - An 18-year-old was killed in Westwood, and the shooter is still on the loose.

The shooting happened in the 3900 block of Yearling Court at about 10:30 p.m. Police were called to the Yearling Court Apartment Complex after reports of a shooting.

That's where they found Deiontay Owens, 18, suffering from a serious gunshot wound. Owens was taken to University Hospital where he later died.

Police have not released any information on any suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

Just hours prior to Owens' fatal shooting, a 17-year-old boy was found shot multiple times in broad daylight in Avondale.

We talked with neighbors who say Owens has a young son. The neighbors said the apartment he was at was his son's mother's.

Police have not said what may have led up to the shooting, or if they have any suspects or persons of interest.

If you have any information, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 513 352-3040 or text “CINTIP” plus your message to CRIMES (274637). You may remain anonymous and may receive compensation for your information.
