CINCINNATI - Two people were shot near a Mt. Airy hospital Monday afternoon.
The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. at a home located at 2025 Flanigan Court.
Police say a quick conversation took place between the shooter and one of the victims in the entry way of the building, and the suspect fired shots, striking one of the victims in the chest.
"We just know at least one of them was visiting a family member," Sgt. Mark Kelley said. "The other we aren't clear of the relationship but it's still in the early stages."
The victim with the chest wound was taken to University Hospital, while the other was taken to nearby Mercy Franciscan Hospital in Mt. Airy, according to police.
Authorities have not released the names and conditions of the victims involved in the shooting, or released a description of any shooting suspects. Police say they are searching for two or three suspects in connection to the incident.
Neighbor Linda Young said she heard four gunshots go off.
"I had seen a guy running through the back and when I got up and looked, I saw the guy laying over there in the driveway," she said. "He had been shot and it's really sad because it's people in the neighborhood that have children."
The incident remains under investigation.
