HARRISON, Ohio - Senator Rob Portman visited Cincinnati State's airport campus to celebrate the construction of two new aircraft hangars Tuesday. The college manages and operates the airport facility.
"Aerospace is the second biggest industry in Ohio after agriculture both on the commercial and military side," said Portman. "What they are doing here at this particular campus with regards to Aerospace, training workers to be airplane mechanics, to work on the high tech involved in aerospace is really important to our future."
Cincinnati State, along with Harrison's Economic Development Department, hosted a event called Business Leaders Breakfast with Portman as the featured speaker.
"I find as I go around the state of Ohio the unemployment rate is very high yet there are a lot of businesses who are looking for trained workers and what Cincinnati State is doing here locally is incredibly important to provide that trained workforce," said Portman.
