HARRISON, Ohio - A 4-year-old was struck by a car in Harrison Monday afternoon.

Officials say the girl was struck around 2:15 p.m. in the parking lot of a post office in the 400 block of S. State Street.

A medical helicopter was requested, but could not respond to the incident because of inclement weather. The girl was transported by ambulance to Children's Hospital.

Officials say the girl suffered facial injuries, but did not describe how severe the injuries were. Her identity has not been released. The identity of the driver involved has also not been released.

The cause of the incident has not yet been determined, and it remains under investigation.
