CINCINNATI - The woman who killed two people in a crash has been sentenced Friday to eight years in prison.

Investigators said 24-year-old Michelle Knapp was drunk and caused an accident that killed 60-year-old Mary Kraus and 27-year-old Nicole Riddle.

Knapp was given her sentence by Judge Cooper on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide. Court had to pause briefly as Knapp was read her sentence as she threw up in the courtroom wastebasket and left the courtroom to compose herself.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says Kraus was traveling westbound on I-74 when her Chevy Cavalier was struck from behind by a Jeep Liberty driven by Knapp around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 4.

Kraus and her back seat passenger, Riddle, died from their injuries.

The front seat passenger, 32-year-old Wesley Kraus, was treated and released at University Hospital. Wesley Kraus, the driver's son, was also the boyfriend of Riddle.

Knapp turned herself in to authorities after being charged for the two deaths.
