GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Norwood man is in the hospital, recovering from serious injuries sustained in an early morning crash.
It happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday on I-74 eastbound, just after the North Bend exit.
Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy Craig Nance was stopped alongside I-74 for a traffic stop with a female driver when his cruiser was hit by James Bailey.
Deputies say Bailey was driving eastbound in the right lane when he struck Nance's cruiser. The female driver form the unrelated traffic stop was in the back of the cruiser filling out paperwork when the car was hit.
Bailey's car flipped, landing on the driver side before resting against a concrete wall. The Green Township fire department had to mechanically remove Bailey from his vehicle. He was taken to University Hospital.
Deputy Nance was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The female driver also sustained non life-threatening injuries. She was taken to University Hospital.
Deputies say they do believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
