GREEN TWP, Ohio - A man is in police custody after he led police on a chase through Green Township early Monday morning.

Police tried to pull over a male driver for a traffic violation in Green Township at about 2:20 a.m., but he refused to stop. The driver led police on a chase until he missed a turn, went up an embankment and crashed near the Dunham Recreation Center, 4356 Dunham Lane.

The driver — whose name has not yet been released — told officers he didn’t stop because he doesn't have a license; however, police say he had a warrant for failing to pay child support.

Speeds reached up to 60 mph before the suspect crashed, according to police.

Authorities have not released any additional details about the chase at this time.
