Car accident causes power outages

More than 7,000 were without power

GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - More than 7,000 Duke Energy customers on Cincinnati's west side were without power due to an early morning car accident Saturday.

Hamilton County dispatchers say a car struck a utility pole in the 4700 block of North Bend Road in Green Township.

It happened around 6:30 a.m.

No other details on the crash were available.

The outages were mainly in west side neighborhoods such as Cheviot, Westwood and Green Township.

A Duke Energy spokeswoman said crews worked quickly to get the power back on.

Power was restored to most homes by late morning.
