CINCINNATI - Police arrested a 19-year-old man on Monday after he allegedly called 911 pretending to be an injured police officer.
Colerain Township police arrested Teon Arrington at about 4 p.m. Monday after he called 911 several times to report crimes in progress; however, the 19-year-old identified himself as an off-duty police officer who had been shot. When real police responded to the calls in the 8100 block of Colerain Avenue, there were no crimes in progress matching Arrington’s description.
Officials say they found Arrington at the scene with two cellphones — one of which police identified as the phone making the 911 calls. Police have not released information about why Arrington impersonated the officer.
Arrington is charged with three counts of making false alarms and impersonating a police officer.
During his Tuesday morning court appearance, a judge released Arrington on his own recognizance. His next hearing is scheduled for April 10 at 9 a.m.
