COLERAIN TWP., Ohio - A local high school student faces an aggravated arson charge Tuesday.

Colerain police were alerted to smoke in the hallways at Northwest High School at 9:23 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police determined the fire had been started in a trashcan located in the men’s restroom and were able to isolate the fire before it spread to other parts of the school.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

The student was identified through security footage and taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
