COLERAIN TWP, Ohio - Was it a stroke of luck, divine intervention or just a malfunctioning gun? A victim in an armed robbery has at least one of them to thank for his life after an incident early Monday morning.

Hamilton County sheriff's deputies arrested Matthew McDaniels, 29, of Colerain Township around 3:30 a.m. on Harry Lee Lane -- about 45 minutes after he allegedly put a gun to a victim's head during a robbery.

Officials say McDaniels put the gun to the victim's head and removed items from the victim's pockets. McDaniels ordered the victim to the ground and pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed, according to officials.

The victim was able to run away and call 911 for help.  McDaniels was arrested and charged with felony aggravated robbery.

McDaniels' bond was set at $500,000 on Tuesday. He remains at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
