COLERAIN TWP, Ohio - Instead of going to a local mall to shop for clothes, some people may have been there to sell drugs.
Police in Colerain Township arrested three people at Northgate Mall Tuesday night after the suspects allegedly agreed to make a heroin deal at the mall’s food court.
The deal was set up with the help of police detectives who were running surveillance on the operation, according to court records.
Police arrested 24-year-old Cordiae Yisrael, 18-year-old Elhanan Yisrael and 23-year-old Ashley Spencer.
Two of the suspects are facing drug trafficking counts, another is facing a drug possession and resisting charge after police say he ran through the mall as they tried to arrest him, and ultimately found cocaine on him.
Police note in court documents that the food court is near a children's play area in the mall.
Officials have not released any additional details at this time.
