CINCINNATI - A Cleves woman accused of breaking in to numerous homes while she was pregnant could spend the rest of her life in prison.

Samantha Brewer, 26, silently wept as she waited for her hearing to start on Wednesday morning.

The former dental assistant pleaded guilty to over a dozen charges including burglary, attempted burglary and child endangering.

Police say Brewer broke in to or attempted to break in to at a dozen homes in the Harrison area while she was 9-months pregnant.

Prosecutor Gwen Bender told the judge Brewer would bring along her 5-year-old son to help with the crimes.

"Sometimes she used him as a lookout, according to statements he made to police. He would remain in the car and honk the horn if someone was coming. On at least a couple of occasions, he was actually put into the homes where the burglaries took place. On one occasion he was put in through the window to unlock the door for her," said Bender. "The child has told police that on a couple of occasions dogs that were in the open home had actually jumped up on him when he entered in to the home."

Bender told the judge Brewer took jewelry and other items that could easily be pawned.

Harrison police said Brewer's husband was on disability from his job and she was addicted to pain medicine after having surgery, which is why she needed the money.

Brewer recently gave birth to a girl while being held at the jail. She also has two boys, ages 6 and 7.

She remains behind bars at the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Brewer now faces 2-92 years behind bars when she is sentenced in August.
