CINCINNATI - In conjunction with law enforcement agencies across the country, the Butler, Hamilton county OVI task forces will be conducting OVI checkpoints Friday night to crackdown on impaired driving.

The first checkpoint in Hamilton County will be at 9092 Blue Ash Road near Ohio 126 from 8 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

A second checkpoint will be conducted at 9100 Plainfield Road near State Route 126 from 11:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.

The Butler County OVI Task Force will be conducting a checkpoint on State Route 747 from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office is also joining forces with over 900 law enforcement agencies throughout the state to target drunk driving from Friday until Sept. 6.

“Over the next two weeks, we will be intensifying our enforcement actions. We are committed to ending the tragic consequences of impaired driving. Today, we will kick off the campaign with an OVI Checkpoint in West Chester,” said Butler County OVI Task Force Coordinator Carl Phillips.

Phillips added, “Driving impaired is simply not worth all of the negative consequences, don’t take the chance. Our message has been the same for years, if you are over the limit, you are under arrest.”

These checkpoints are being conducted in conjunction with other checkpoints throughout the state as part of the Ohio OVI Checkpoint Weekend. Officers and troopers will combat alcohol related crashes by combining the checkpoint with saturation patrols.
