INDEPENDENCE, Ky. - Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of a Northern Kentucky man.

The family of Mark Smith is still trying to understand what happened to him on Feb. 16, 2012 . They say he had no reason to leave.

Smith's last known whereabouts have been traced back to the Taylor Mill BP gas station and the United Dairy Farmers on Fairfield Road in Bellevue.

He was driving a 1999 blue Ford Ranger pickup at the time of his disappearance.
