SPARTA, Ky. - The Kentucky Speedway has purchased 140 acres of farm land to help with parking after the recent nightmare during the race in Sparta.
The land had been owned by Jo Wischer, 84, and her 90-year-old husband of Florence. They grow tobacco and corn on the land, which before the transaction was on 219 acres.
The Kentucky Speedway have planned a press conference for Tuesday, Aug. 30 to provide more details of the parking project.
