HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - A woman in Highland Heights woke up to a tree on her home after some severe weather passed through the area early Wednesday morning.

Amy Doherghty said she woke up to the sound of the wind and was alerted by her neighbor, who had called to tell her that the tree had fallen. When she came outside, she saw the tree down on her home in the 100 block of Bramble Avenue.

"It was scary," Amy said.

Amy was told by a tree service that because the ground was so soft from all the rain, the strong winds took the tree right over.

Amy said there wasn't too much damage and that the home isn't taking on any rain.

"We were very lucky," Amy said.

A Tornado Watch was in effect for parts of Northern Kentucky as Wednesday's severe storm moved through the Tri-State, carrying with it high winds and significant rainfall.
