FORT THOMAS, Ky. - A Highlands High School teacher, and mother of two, resigned from her job last week amid allegations that she had sex with a student.
Andrea Conners resigned from her position at Highlands High School on May 3.
In a handwritten letter 9 News obtained, Conners wrote: "I, Andrea Conners, resign effective immediately from the Ft. Thomas Independent School District." To view the resignation letter, go to http://media2.wcpo.com/pdfs/resignation.pdf .
The letter of resignation was accepted the same day by Fort Thomas Schools Superintendent Gene Kirchner.
9 News left several messages with Kirchner. Our calls were not returned.
Highlands Assistant Principal Matthew Haskamp had no comment on Conners' resignation.
Several students told 9 News Conners had a sexual relationship with a student on campus and the allegations are the talk of the close-knit town.
According to the Fort Thomas Schools website , Conners taught business and was also the FBLA Advisor. Conners is a Cincinnati native, and a graduate of Xavier University.
9 News made a call to the extension listed for her on the Highlands website, but the number was disconnected.
9 News has learned Conners is married to another Tri-State educator and they have two sons.
