FORT MITCHELL, Ky. - Parents were turned away from a Northern Kentucky day care Monday morning after a driver crashed a vehicle into the facility a few hours prior.

A driver crashed his truck into Biederman Educational Center , located at 2320 Grandview Drive in Fort Mitchell at about 1 a.m. The impact caused extensive damage to the building. No one was injured in the crash.

Because of the damage, the day care’s staff was forced to turn families away Monday morning. Between 50 and 60 children attend Fort Mitchell’s Biederman Educational Center every weekday, said the center’s director, Nicole Rouse.

“I’m hoping we can get things back by tomorrow, but it all depends on the situation,” Rouse said.

The day care can’t open until the business instructor gives clearance, Rouse said.

The closure of the day care is leaving some parents wondering what they should do with their children.

“It’s a pretty big hassle,” said parent Larry Latham. “I have to find someone to watch him now because I have to go to work.”

Police arrested the driver, whose name has not yet been released. Authorities say they believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Officials have not released any additional details about the accident at this time, including the estimated cost of damages.
