A Florence man was arrested after he allegedly brutally beat his girlfriend on the side of a road Tuesday night.
Police say 50-year-old Stephen Lewis Biles and 47-year-old Wanda Griffin, both of Florence, had just gotten off a bus at the intersection of Goodridge Drive and Dixie Highway in Florence when Biles started punching Griffin in the face.
As Griffin laid on the ground, Biles allegedly repeatedly kicked and stomped her head and face, causing serious trauma.
Griffin was transported to University Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Her condition has not been released.
Biles was arrested and taken to the Boone County Jail. He has been charged with assault in the 1st degree.
