FLORENCE, Ky. - 9 News uncovered frightening new information about a local doctor being investigated by the FBI.
At least five of Dr. Gary Shearer's patients have died in Boone County of drug overdoses in the last two years.
A 31-year-old woman, 46-year-old woman, and two 52-year-old men all died of drug-related deaths.
Dr. Shearer's Florence office was raided on Tuesday by FBI and DEA agents who took dozens of boxes from his office filled with medical records.
The FBI told 9 News they were executing a federal search warrant, but wouldn't comment any further.
On Wednesday, 9 News reported 59-year-old Peggy Alig had died of drug intoxication while in the care of Dr. Shearer.
Alig was a Kentucky Colonel, and mother and grandmother. Her daughter, Amy, explained what it was like inside Dr. Shearer's office.
"He didn't even look at her, he didn't make eye contact with her. All he did was fill out prescriptions, he did not touch her, he did not listen to her symptoms, and I was disgusted," said Amy.
9 News tried contacting Dr. Shearer. He hasn't returned our calls.
He's still seeing patients at his Turfway Road office.
