FLORENCE, Ky. - The Emergency Management Agency (EMA) offers warnings and tips for keeping your family safe as the temperature climbs this weekend.
If you are going to soak in the warm weather by the pool remember to keep hydrated. Even while you might feel refreshed with an occasional dip in the water your body still needs to cool off from the inside. It is recommended that you drink 16 to 32 ounces of cool, non-alcoholic fluids every hour.
Health officials also say to drink cool fluids rather than icy fluids.
Also monitor and even limit your time outside, recognizing that often your children do not appreciate when they are becoming overheated.
