FLORENCE, Ky. - The Boone County Sheriff's Office says it will not release any information that will jeopardize the integrity of the investigation into the deaths of a married Florence couple.

William and Peggy Stephenson, both 74 years old, were found dead in their Summit Condo home on Ridge Edge Court Sunday afternoon.

Deputies were called to the home in the 7400 block of Ridge Edge Court about 1 p.m. after the victims' church, Union Baptist Church, notified a family member that the couple had not attended that morning's service. William was a deacon at Union Baptist Church.

In a release on Wednesday, the sheriff's office says "Sheriff Michael Helmig is asking for their patience while we doggedly pursue the person(s) responsible for this heinous act. We absolutely cannot jeopardize the integrity of the investigation by the premature release of information."

The release also says "our entire investigation section is involved in following up leads in some form or fashion. There are daily meetings where the progress of the case is discussed along with what needs to be accomplished that day. Evidence is being processed. Any and all leads are being followed up on."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
