COVINGTON, Ky. - A man is scheduled to appear in a Northern Kentucky courtroom Monday for allegations that he murdered a man near the Ohio River more than a year ago.
Dexter Stallings, a 49-year-old Covington resident, is scheduled to appear in a Kenton County courtroom after police say he killed 51-year-old Rodney Shaffer in September 2011. A guest staying at a hotel near the Covington Landing found Shaffer’s body in the Ohio River.
Authorities say Shaffer was beaten to death and died from severe head trauma, but officials have not said what led to the alleged fight between Shaffer and Stallings.
Stallings is scheduled to be in court at 1:30 p.m.
