COVINGTON, Ky. - A man suffered serious burns to his arms and hands after he woke up to a fire in his home, which was quickly extinguished Friday morning in Covington.
The unidentified man was conscious and talking after the fire started at approximately 5:20 a.m. on the first floor at 403 East 15th Street.
The blaze caused some smoke and water damage to the second floor, said Covington Fire Battalion Chief John Martin.
Emergency personnel initially observed flames shooting from the residence before fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze. The cause remains under investigation.
