COVINGTON, Ky. - Hundreds of joggers, walkers and runners gathered for a race on Saturday that helps local children start off on the right foot.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati is a youth-mentoring agency in the Tri-State that matches adult volunteers with children who need positive role models.

WCPO-TV partnered with Kroger to put on Saturday's 5K event.

The race began and ended at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, winding through Covington and downtown Cincinnati.

Following the race, there was food, drinks and a sundae bar for the finishers. There was also a Kids Korner with face-painting, carnival games, prizes and more.

In addition, Mike's Carwash locations in Cincinnati are also holding a fundraiser on Saturday where part of the sales will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
