COVINGTON - Three suspects in the death of a Covington man are requesting a private investigator.
Austin Eash, Tiffany Herrera, and a 17-year-old juvenile all face charges of murder, tampering with evidence, theft and abuse of a corpse in the death of 57-year-old Donnell Brown. They appeared in court Monday for a pre-trial conference.
Brown’s dismembered body was discovered at an apartment on Greenup St. in Sept. 2011.
“Anytime you have three defendants involved in a murder case, it's a complicated case. The judge is obviously feeling frustration, with the state public defender's office, in wanting to spend tax payer money on [outside] investigators,” said Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders. He said the county already has investigators on the payroll.
Judge Martin Sheehan will rule on the motion for private investigators next month. The three suspects will appear in court on March 6.
