N.Ky. homeless man convicted of rape to be sentenced

BURLINGTON, Ky. - A convicted rapist is scheduled to be sentenced in a Boone County courtroom Wednesday morning.

John Stuedle is facing at least 75 years in prison for charges that he raped an underage girl more than a dozen times. Stuedle was convicted on 15 counts of third degree rape and one count of custodial interference.

In November, a judge set Stuedle’s arrest warrant at $100,000 after he failed t o appear in court to answer to his charges.

Florence police say Stuedle is a homeless man who took advantage of the same victim multiple times at a homeless camp off U.S. 42.

Third degree rape is a Class D felony and comes with a punishment of up to five years in prison for each count.

Stuedle is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m.
