BELLEVUE, Ky. - Hundreds of people were "freezin' for a reason" in Northern Kentucky Saturday morning.
The 14th annual Polar Plunge was held at Joe's Crab Shack in Bellevue. The event featured 755 people from across the Tri-State.
All participants raised a minimum of $75. Participants under the age of 18 raised at least $50.
For the sixth year proceeds from the event will go to Special Olympics programs in Kentucky and Ohio. This year's event raised $130,000.
Prizes were awarded for the largest corporate, law enforcement and fraternity/sorority/school group taking part in the event, as well as the top fundraising group. The team representing Messer Construction raised the most funds this year.
