MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Miami Township Police Department released a sketch Friday hoping it can help investigators uncover clues related to the death of a 65-year-old man.
People say they saw an unfamiliar white male around the Pinebluff Drive area Monday night, the night Paul Leiter was murdered. The Miami Township Police Department is asking for help identifying the man.
"This man was not recognized by the people who him. It's not clear if he may be a visitor to the neighborhood, a witness to the crime or somehow involved in the murder," said Miami Township Chief of Police R. Steven Bailey. "We would like to know who he is and to speak with him."
Police say Leiter was killed Monday night around 8 p.m. when someone shot into his home through a window from outside the house.
"We are running down several possible alternatives that could take us to a more concrete lead in the case. Right now we have several possibilities to consider and we want to make sure we examine each one thoroughly," said Chief Bailey.
Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect or who saw him in the neighborhood should contact Miami Township police at 513-248-3721 or Crime Stoppers at 888-352-3040. You can also text “CINTIP PLUS YOUR TIP” to 274637.
