OXFORD, Ohio - A wasp is to blame for a multiple-vehicle crash in Oxford that sent four adults and two children to the hospital Thursday morning, according to police.
The three-vehicle crash happened in the 4000 block of Ohio 73 around 10:45 a.m. A woman driving east on Ohio 73 tried to swat a wasp and ended up going left of center and hit two oncoming vehicles head-on, according to investigators.
One of the vehicles ended up on its top. Preliminary reports indicate some of the victims were trapped.
Three medical helicopters and numerous other emergency personnel were called to the scene.
Four adults were transported by medical helicopter -- two went to University Hospital while the other two were taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
Two children were taken to the hospital by ambulances.
Officials say none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
The road has reopened.
