HARLAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Residents of Harlan Township in Warren County say they witnessed the tornado that touched down along State Route 132 just before 8 p.m. Friday.
"It was just like you see in the movies," said Barbara Davenport. As Davenport looked out her windows she saw debris swirling in the air. "I wasn't scared it was amazing to see."
A series of storms swept through the Tri-State Friday, which put several counties under severe weather warnings and watches throughout the night.
Sandy Easterly was in her barn with 18 sheep, two cows and two calves when a break in the rain came. "I ran into the house and just as I did it hit," said Easterly.
The barn her late husband built lost its roof and a nearby tree had limbs twisted off. First responders for Harlan Township were on scene but no one was injured as a result of the storm.
All 22 animals in the barn also were not injured.
In Clinton County the director of Emergency Management said that roughly 25 homes in Clarksville suffered minor damage.
Harlan Township crews will be back along 132 Saturday morning to assess storm damage in the daylight.
A survey team from the National Weather Service was also in the area Saturday to assess the storm damage.
They have determined that a weak tornado did touch down in both Clinton County and Warren County.
