Medical helicopter responds to Monroe crash

MONROE, Ohio - A medical helicopter transported an off-duty firefighter to an area hospital after a crash in Monroe Friday.

The accident happened at 6262 Hamilton-Middletown Road at about 11:55 a.m. Officials say a vehicle overturned and caused a person to be trapped inside.

The man, whose name has not been released, is a Middletown firefighter. His condition was described as "good" and he is expected to be released later today, vice president of the Middletown Professional Fire Fighters Local 336 Chris Klug said. Klug said the man's injuries are expected to keep him off the job for a period of time.

Authorities have not released any additional details about the crash at this time, including what led to the accident.
