MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Two masked intruders kicked in the front door of a Middletown man's home on Friday and held his family at gunpoint, police reported.

The Middletown Division of Police received a call at approximately 1 a.m. Friday that there had been a home invasion in the 3200 block of Seneca Street at the home of Neil Amburgey.

Police said one intruder searched the residence for valuables while the other held the family captive in the living room at gunpoint.

Amburgey’s girlfriend, Stephanie McDaniel, was also at the residence with her 2-year-old son and was trying to shield the muzzle of the gun away from her toddler.

One of the masked men was recognized as McDaniel’s cousin, Christopher Sprinkles, according to police.

Sprinkles, 25, was arrested for aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence and drug abuse.

Marcus Williams, 26, was identified as the other masked man involved with the crime and was charged with aggravated burglary. Williams was the individual that held the family at gunpoint while Sprinkles searched for valuables, police said.
