MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Middletown police discovered a meth lab while conducting a search warrant Monday night.
According to police, an officer located a truck with a warrant attached to the license plate. The officer stopped the vehicle as it turned into a driveway in the 1700 block of Brentwood Street, which was the residence of driver Chelsie Peck, 22.
Police say a male suspect bolted out of the truck and inside the residence. Peck gave officers consent to search the inside of the home, which is when a meth lab was discovered inside the basement.
Police say experts are working to stabilize the hazardous materials and chemicals used in the meth lab.
Peck was charged with permitting drug abuse.
The male suspect fled and has not been located. Police say anyone with information is asked to call Middletown police at (513) 425-7731.
