MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - A man Middletown Police say is known for fleeing from them was arrested yesterday after once again attempting to flee from officers.

Police say Terry Smith was seen driving in the area of Breiel Boulevard and North Verita Parkway and when officers attempted to make a traffic stop, Smith took off.

Middletown police officers followed Smith into the city of Franklin where Franklin police officers took on the pursuit.

During the chase, Smith attempted to ram the Franklin officers' cruisers with his pick-up truck. He later drove back into the city of Middletown at I-75 and SR 122.

Smith continued fleeing even after crashing into three other cars at Coles Road and Dixie Highway. After the crash, he kept driving south on Dixie Highway before crashing into a utility pole on Towne Boulevard.

Smith was arrested and is facing 23 different charges including speeding, leaving the scene of an accident and driving under suspension.

Franklin police have also charged Smith with felonious assault. Additional charges could come from Ohio State Patrol who is investigating the multiple vehicle crash Smith allegedly caused at Coles Road and Dixie Highway.

He is currently being held in the Middletown City Jail.
