Middletown man accused of sex crime against child

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - A Middletown man is accused of a sex crime against a child, as police investigate other similar claims.
James English, 38, is charged in a separate case in which he is accused of raping a woman.
In addition, police are investigating that he may have molested as many as five children, ages 5 to 12.
An 8-year-old girl reported that English touched her inappropriately when her mother was not home.
The girl reported that English told her he was only allowed to hold her in that way when her mother was not at home. English is a family friend, according to a police report.
That report also states that police are investigating similar claims by a 12-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl.
English is a registered sex offender who has several prior convictions for rape, gross sexual imposition and sexual battery.
English is scheduled to be in court Monday.
